In & Out

Last week, some things finally made it from the Hawthouse into the ground with the help of my rambling friend, Tristan, and other things began their journey inside.

Curly kale.

Little red cabbage (although I always call it purple. Because it's purple.)

Tristan had some horseradish roots that she had picked up on her travels and needed to get potted. One of them will become a permanent resident here. I have named mine Audrey. You know, like the killer plant from Little Shop of Horrors? Because these suckers are already nearly twice the size they were last week. And I am afraid.

Sunflower! Not the seed kind, although I have some of those for later in the season. These are purely for the pleasure of cut flowers for the house. What's a Hawthouse for if not a little colorful indulgence now and again?

  1. Jealous. We have to wait til Mid-May to plant outside. Going to do seed starts soon with the kiddles.

  2. Don't be too jealous, Sissy. Yesterday it hailed really hard, and I'm still too afraid to go see if the little babies made it.
