The Mantis

As fans of self-sufficiency and economy, we are finally the proud owners of a big ol' composter. We had plans (well, I did; I don't know if I had informed The Big Guy of the addition to his list) to build a compost box, but this was being sold by a friend at an opportune time, so we snapped it up, along with the two "ground barrels." Isn't it cool in all its dual-chamberness? You put fresh stuff in one side, while the other cooks. We'll be using the ground barrels to hold grass clippings and pony poo to be added to the Mantis as needed. And coming later this year, chicken poo from our very own chickens. Chickens, I say, I say chickens.
